By installing closed circuit television as a main part of home security, one can scare away would be pranksters, and much harsher criminals. Considering the value of a decent piece of property, the price of using CCTV is minimal compared to the cost of the damage that just one criminal can do. Many possible criminals abort their missions of crime once they see that there are cameras detailing their every moves. That means a much better sense of security for the home owner. This is especially true o the elderly and disabled. Anyone who owns or runs a business can be very clear when letting it be known that theft cuts directly into their profits. Shoplifting is the number one crime that hurts all consumers since it causes shops to increase the prices of their merchandise. That causes everyone to pay a higher price due to the crime of theft. Also, many don't realize how many of their employees help themselves to the cookie jar at work. By letting it be known that the business has installed cameras at all counters will not only help to prevent robbery by outside suspects, but byemployees at the registers as well. If a robber does decide to hold up an employee at the counter, the camera will be able to capture their face and identity. That is valuable evidence that can help the law to convict and put away criminals so that they can not get at the shop again anytime soon.
